The Design Business Association (DBA) is looking to promote the effectiveness of design throughout England and Scotland with the appointment of five new regional development heads (RHDs).

The new RHDs will work towards creating a greater sense of community and connection between design agencies while also concentrating on building strong interfaces with business figures and regional design purchasers.

Deborah Dawton, the DBA’s CEO, said of the appointments, \"One of the most valued roles of the DBA is to be a hub of a national design community. The new RHDs will focus on building greater networking initiatives with design consultancies and business through intermediaries such as the regional development agencies, Business Links and the Institute of Directors.\"

One of these initiatives is a tour around six key regional centres to promote the effectiveness of design and to kick-start interaction between consultancies.

Details of the events and future initiatives are available from the RHDs. They are: The Chase’s Simon Farrell, Rebecca Battman from Onbrand, Elmwood’s Nick Ramshaw and Jayne Barrett and Caroline Hagen from Reach.
