Numark Pharmacy, the UK\'s largest virtual chain of independent pharmacists has appointed Meriden-based PR agency, RBH Salmons to handle its media relations account. The Tamworth-based firm has over 1600 outlets spanning the country and has tasked its new agency with helping communicate the values of the brand in both the trade and consumer media.

The aim of the PR push is to position Numark as a trusted and recognised brand, differentiating it from competitors. Andrew Sollitt, marketing director for Numark, said: \"We believe that independent pharmacy has a strong future. However, there are issues impacting the sector and it is our goal to find ways to help us manage them.\"

Claire Salmons, managing director of RBH Salmons, commented: \"We\'re delighted to have been appointed. The changes in the approach to healthcare from central government and the increased pressure from competitors make it an exciting time for us to be involved.\"

The win continues the PR outfit\'s impressive start since it was launched last year. Its client-base includes National Grid Transco, Barratt Homes, Blakemore Food Service and Jaguar.
