Bev Jones has rejoined McCann Erickson Manchester, taking on the role of direct response director for Universal McCann. Jones joins from the Mail on Sunday where she headed up the paper’s Manchester office.

Jones will report into Mike Williams, the newly appointed Chairman of Universal in Manchester. The news comes less than a month after the agency lost the £23 million account for Shop Direct.

The Manchester-based home shopping catalogue business moved the account to Carat in London. Universal had repitched for the account, but lost out after a four-way pitch and it is thought that Jones’ arrival may help to consolidate the department after losing the account.

Jones is not alone in rejoining McCann Erickson Manchester, Fiona Hasson returns after twenty years away and will become a member of the McCann new business team, while Jo Crosbie rejoins after a year away as account manager to work with client, Magnet.

Commenting on the appointments, Williams, said: \"I’m really looking forward to having Bev, Jo and Fiona back helping to shape the business’s future as well as playing a part in its past.\"
