The Sage gears up to make a splash.

The Sage Gateshead, the new £70 million international centre for music, has handed its marketing account to FPP. The agency, which has offices in Newcastle, London and Geneva will devise and implement all creative material in the build up to the opening of the centre.

The Norman Foster building, due to open next winter, is supported by the largest Arts Lottery grant ever given outside London. The centre is currenly being constructed on the south bank of the Tyne and is looking to raise awareness in the run up to the opening.

FPP, who won the account after a four-way pitch, has created a campaign aimed at people living in or visiting the region. It will announce the centre’s opening date along with the first six-months of musical highlights.

Commenting on the win, Clare Stockton, account director at FPP, said: \"It is a very exciting project and we are honoured to be selected. Using an integrated range of media, we aim to be able to reach people who have a passing interest as well as those who already have an understanding of the value of the centre.\"
