The Edinburgh Evening News has launched a new TV advertising campaign, its first in six years, which will run throughout the month of March.

The new campaign was created by Family.

Speaking of the campaign, Gordon Santana, newspaper sales and marketing controller said: “We’ve used radio for the last few years to good effect and TV is an option we’ve been considering for some time to further widen our advertising reach.”

The commercial opens with an Edinburgh street scene. Everyone is wearing a white T-shirt with one word on the front. When people are together the words make up sentences. The three scenarios in the ad illustrate three key areas of the paper’s editorial content – news, sport and entertainment.

The commercial was directed by Plum Films and the media space is being booked by Mediacom.
