Rita Rowe, managing director of Mason Williams, has been appointed the new chair of the North West Committee of the Public Relations Consultants Association. She is the first woman to have held the post.

Rowe and director John Williams founded Mason Williams eighteen years ago. The company now has a £3 million annual fee level, with offices in both Manchester and London.

Commenting on her appointment to the PRCA chair, Rowe said: “To be a member of the PRCA you have to adhere to a very high code of standards in both the delivery and quality of work, as well as training of staff.

“As the professional body for the industry, the PRCA insists on these high standards of accreditation – the equivalent of ISO 9000 – and because of this clients working with PRCA members are given reassurance of quality and excellence. Our mission remains to raise standards throughout the public relations consultancy sector and as chair I shall work to raise the profile and the objectives of the PRCA in the North West.”

The appointment comes on the heels of the company collecting the national and international PR for the Radisson Edwardian Group and the launch of the Radisson Edwardian Manchester.
