Scottish Enterprise has kicked off its bi-annual review of marketing suppliers, with tender documents set to go out in early February.

The review will not cover advertising and media buying which are, according to a spokesperson at Scottish Enterprise, “under review” by marketing director Alan McIntyre, nor PR, which was appointed last year, but will incorporate all other marketing sectors including graphic design, event management, audio visual presentations, exhibition design and market research.

Between 17 and 19 categories will be included in the review, incorporating every area in which Scottish Enterprise operates.

Several agencies will be appointed to each category, with some looking for two or three agencies while others may have as many as eight.

Both existing and new marketing services agencies will be considered for a place on the roster.

The new roster agencies will be appointed by July this year and their contracts will run for two years.

The organisation’s PR roster will be reviewed again next year.
