Caledonia magazine, the glossy lifestyle magazine, has closed down after months of industry speculation.

Philip Healey, founder of the magazine and one of its major backers, has been forced to close the title, which is published by parent company Scott House Publishing, after a buyer for the company failed to materialise in time.

It is thought that the 25 full- and part-time staff who worked on the title have been working on a month’s notice and many have already found new employment, although a handful of staff remained to run down the office.

It is also thought that a proposed MBO was shelved due to a “working capital” problem.
