Touch Communications, the design firm fully owned by Blackburn Rovers Football Club, is set to open a new division aimed solely at the sports industry, called Fanatic Enthusiasm marketing.

Fanatic will focus entirely on winning and servicing accounts involved in sports, from football and motor racing teams through to brands looking for added leverage through association with sports clubs.

The new division is headed up by Touch account director Simon Williams, who commented: “I used to work in London and down there we were realising that sport is a market not fully being exploited.”

Williams also states that although the agency handles Blackburn Rovers, there is still plenty of scope for them to work with other football clubs. He said: “If we work for a Southern football team, as long as they don’t work in this region and they’re not going for the same fanbase, there shouldn’t be a problem.” Fanatic is currently pitching for an unnamed Superbike racing team.
