A Firm footing: new magazine joins The Drum stable of magazines

The Drum’s parent company, The Carnyx Group, has acquired the monthly legal magazine Firm from the liquidators.

The title was launched around four years ago by Firm Publications, a company founded by Steven McColl and lawyer Bill Frain-Bell.

The magazine now takes the number of titles in the Carnyx portfolio to five, the other four being The Drum, Adline, Prospect and Prospect North West.

Speaking of the deal, Gordon Young, publisher of The Drum, said: “Firm is a strong magazine and a great fit with the titles that we already have. I look forward to developing the title in the future.”

The acquisition comes as The Drum takes on a new look from this issue. The new design was created by Glasgow-based design consultancy Stand, and mirrors that of The Drum’s sister title Adline.
