Royal Scotsman appoints key marketing role

The Royal Scotsman, the luxury train operator which offers tours of Scotland during the summer months, has appointed a new commercial manager.

Les Maitland has been recruited to the post, having spent a number of years working in London for several hotel groups including Marriott International and Forte Hotel Group. At The Royal Scotsman Maitland will be responsible for pushing both individual trips on the train and charter trips, when the train can be hired out by a single party. Maitland will also be pushing the Royal Scotsman to potential customers in Europe and Asia.
