The Groovy Food Company has appointed branding and communications agency Dutton Merrifield as it plans to launch its first ever product. The firm, which is based in Exeter began life at the beginning of 2003 and has chosen the Bristol-based agency to work on a packaging and brand development project.

The product, Cool Oil is a blend of organic seed oils rich in Omega 3,6 and 9 that is drizzled over food. Managing director, David Merrifield said, \"It\'s great to be dealing with something as healthy as organic foods, but it\'s even better when we have a client that\'s prepared to call itself \'groovy\' and are a bit more out there than most. Our approach to marketing the company and its products is to build the Groovy brand as a stylish, high quality commodity, that\'s a little quirky and fun at the same time.\"

The agency has already created the \'Groovy\' logo for the firm and will work on the designing and developing of packaging ready for the product\'s launch later this year.
