Leeds and Huddersfield-based Propaganda has appointed the former marketing director of European marketing communications agency FPP as its new managing director. Taking on the role at the strategic marketing and PR consultancy is Melanie Fitzpatrick.

The move will see founder and former managing director, Julian Kynaston become chairman and senior consultant at the firm. \"We took the decision to appoint Melanie as managing director because of her great track record of results-driven achievements. Her appointment will also allow me to remain working closely with our clients, rather than becoming absorbed internally as the business continues its growth,\" commented Kynaston.

Fitzpatrick, 30 has worked with clients such as Proctor & Gamble, Heinz, Duracell and Sage. As part of her new role she will be responsible for an aggressive new business campaign, oversee growth and will direct the European rollout of hair beauty brand ghd.

Fitzpatrick enthused, \"Propaganda is an impressive organisation that offers a unique blend of research-led strategic and creative thinking. There is a tremendous energy about the place and I am looking forward to integrating my current knowledge with that already in existence at the consultancy.\"
