Speculation has been fuelled that SMG could be on its way out of Glasgow after weighing up a potential site near Paisley.

Reports have linked SMG – owner of Scottish and Grampian Television and Virgin Radio – to a site close to Glasgow Airport.

The company, which has hired Georgeson to oversee the project management and help arrive at the most suitable conclusion for the broadcasters property needs, is reported to be keen on a 76,000 sq ft office site close to the airport’s M8 off-ramp.

It is thought that SMG bosses would look favourably on the site due to its excellent communication links. However, any move outside Glasgow would upset the city council which is hoping to persuade the broadcaster to stay within the city limits.
