A new helpline service has been launched today by Skillsformedia and Learndirect Scotland.

The phoneline is specifically for the creative industries and aims to provide advice both to people looking to break into the creative sector or those working within the industry who are looking for a change in direction.

As well as over-the-phone advice, callers will also be able to arrange one-to-one advice sessions with experienced creative freelancers.

Amongst the backers of the helpline are Channel 4 director Stuart Cosgrove and BBC Scotland controller John McCormack.

Cosgrove said: "If Scotland is going to play with the big boys we need the workforce to be always brushing up on their skills."

The helpline can be contacted on 0808 100 8094.
