Computer superstore PC World is looking at ways to improve its web portal business and extend its reach and market share within the home PC sector.

The company has gone through a strategic review of its portal business, handled by digital agency GCDM, part of the Green Cathedral group, and it has now retained the agency to continue providing digital marketing services for the next three years.

GCDM will primarily handle all of the search engine marketing, affiliate marketing and support various media partner relationships.

PC World’s senior product manager Paul Delaine-Smith said: “As a multi-channel retailer it is essential for PC World to maximise opportunities within this growth channel. We wanted an agency that would be a true partner and extension of our digital marketing team to handle specific aspects of our digital marketing business as well as having the capacity to deal with any future requirements we may have.”
