As part of the aim to increase its London presence, Buxton-based Media Square has acquired the ongoing business and certain assets of brand and advertising consultancy, BANC. The deal is the fourth done by the agency this year.

BANC, which has announced it is going into liquidation, will be incorporated into Media Square’s integrated marketing communications business, Equanim. The sale of BANC’s assets will help pay off creditors. Commenting on the aquisition, Kevin Steeds, Media Square’s chairman, said, “BANC and its team of people represent an excellent acquisition for Media Square.

The deal gives us a good foothold in the London market and brings a high quality, very capable team of communication professionals into our group.”

Robert Bean, who founded BANC, brought in the insolvency practice Tomlinson’s to handle the liquidation process. He will head up the new operation, “The company already includes strong specialisms in direct marketing, CRM, press and public relations, design and advertising. Our brand experience and strategic approach will serve to strengthen the overall offer,” he added.

BANC was established in 1993 and counts Youngs Brewery, Swan Hellenic, London Evening Standard and the Liberal Democrats amongst its clients.
