DA produce face of Aftershock

Aftershock, the popular alcoholic “shooter” drink has made an animated character created by Glasgow-based DA Group into its brand spokesperson.

The animated “avatar” character, named Eduardo, was created by DA Group to appear in viral marketing campaigns for the brand, with a small presence on the Aftershock website. This month sees the character take over as the main brand spokesperson, with the Aftershock website relaunched to incorporate a number of Eduardo features, including games, Web links and Eduardo viral e-mails, which can be personalised by visitors and sent to their friends.

New technology developed by DA Group will allow Eduardo to be used for further new media applications, including third-generation SMS, which will allow a much closer relationship between the brand and customers. For the company, which shies away from above-the-line advertising, Eduardo will now be a key part of its marketing strategy.
