Tayburn, the Edinburgh-based communications consultancy, has appointed Will Whitehorn, brand development and corporate affairs director of Virgin Group, as a non-executive director of the company.

The appointment will see Whitehorn develop relations with companies on an international scale. Whitehorn will remain a non-executive director of C A Coutts Holdings.

Scotland-born Whitehorn, who has worked on a variety of Virgin Group companies since 1992, including Virgin Rail, Virgin.com, Virgin Mobiles, Virgin Management and Virgin Cars, said of his appointment: “I look forward to working with the Tayburn management team to develop its international operations. Tayburn is an established brand in its market and it is highly respected; its quality international client base reflects this.”

Chief executive of Tayburn Erik Davidson added, “Will has extensive experience in the creative realisation of one of the world’s most recognisable names in a variety of sectors and countries. His understanding of the use of brand values is a demonstration of creative thinking that will be of great benefit to Tayburn.”
