McLelland & Son has launched its first ever TV ad campaign to support its Seriously Strong cheddar brand. The company has invested over £2m in the new advertising campaign, created by 1576, which was launched under the slogan “Do It For The Taste”. Based on the idea of a heist, the ads feature an elusive criminal mastermind, known only as “Mousehead”, who captures vast quantities of “Seriously Strong” cheddar. Animation was completed by London-based agency The Moving Picture Company, whose past credits include Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and the Madonna promotional video for “Die Another Day”. The new advertising campaign, which will be supported by point-of-sale activity, will run across Central and Scottish TV regions for six weeks, and will then reappear on a regular basis until 2004.
