Marketing titles Adline and The Marketeer, the sister title of The Drum, are to be merged from next month.
The deal has been signed with Adline’s owner, Wilmington Plc, and it will see the formation of a new company, 75 per cent of which is owned by the Carnyx Group, the publisher of The Drum, The Marketeer and Prospect, and 25 per cent by Wilmington Plc.
It is the intention that from May Adline and The Marketeer will be merged to create a single monthly regional marketing title that will cover the English regions.
Adline is one of the strongest brands in terms of marketing services and has successfully served centres such as Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester over the last 23 years.
Meanwhile, The Marketeer has made its mark in the North and is particularly strong in terms of serving the client community.
It will be the aim of the new operation to combine these strategies and create a strong title that brings both clients and agencies together.
The magazine, which will be called Adline, incorporating The Marketeer, will promote and support the great UK marketing centres outside of London, which, far from being regional, are amongst the finest in Europe.
Adline – currently part of Wilmington Plc – was established in 1980 as the marketing magazine for the communications community outside the M25, and in 1999 Carnyx Group launched The Marketeer into the same market. Each magazine has an established range of associated publications, websites and events, including the Roses Awards, now in their 22nd year.

The Drum, which is 100 per cent owned by Carnyx Group, will not be affected by the deal.
