Rumours persist TBWA has Royal Bank ad account

As The Drum went to press speculation was again circulating that TBWA has picked up the Royal Bank of Scotland advertising account.

The two parties are currently believed to be agreeing terms, but David Outhwaite, head of media relations at the Royal Bank, denied a decision had been reached.

TBWA\Edinburgh officially opens its doors today though it is expected the Royal Bank’s business will be serviced from London.

Gary O’Donnell, MD of TBWA\Edinburgh, said he was unaware of any decision being made. The business was put up for pitch earlier this year. It is understood that 1576 and The Bridge were involved in the pitch.
