HBOS has announced the appointment of James Boulton as its new head of marketing and customer relations.

Boulton, 37, will take up the position immediately after previous head of marketing at HBOS, Philip Hanson, was appointed head of mortgages and secured lending for the banking group in August.

Boulton has been with the group for two years, previously as head of brands marketing. Before this he spent time with Walker’s Crisps, Unilever and Oxford Strategic Marketing.

He will report to James Corcoran, head of products, and will be responsible for all marketing and customer relations for Halifax and Bank of Scotland.
