Beat 106 has been reprieved from a management clear-out that has affected many of the other Capital-owned stations nationally.

Radical restructuring sees most MDs of local Capital stations being moved into other jobs, but Hugh Murray, Beat’s MD, has retained his role and a newly formed national sales team will be introduced.

Group MDs are being appointed to manage the four Capital strands – Century, Capital Gold, XFM and Capital CHR.

Capital is believed to be strengthening its position prior to going on the acquisition trail.
