The Scottish Labour Party has shortlisted The Union, 1576 and The Bridge to pitch for its 2003 Scottish Parliamentary election campaign.

The Union is effectively the incumbent agency as it also handled the business for the 1999 Scottish Parliamentary election. A Labour Party spokesman said The Union's 'divorce' campaign on behalf of the party was highly successful.

The party's head of marketing, Steve Lawther, commented: "We are looking for a dynamic and creative agency that shares our commitment to Labour's values. Working for a political party is a challenging opportunity and the agency selected will be a central part of our campaign team."

It is thought the majority of the campaign will be outdoor, though the successful agency may also play a part in party political broadcasts.
