Real Radio, the Guardian Media Group-owned station, has appointed former Carnyx Group sales director, Billy Anderson, as sales director.

Anderson has been with the Carnyx Group for two years and during that time has increased the sales department, working across the The Drum, The Marketeer, Unlimited and Prospect, to 18 staff.

Prior to the Carnyx Group, Anderson held senior sales and marketing positions at Auto Freeway, a freesheet owned by the GMG, RT in London, Scot FM and Auto Trader.

Gordon Young, publisher at the Carnyx Group, said: "Over the last two years Billy has made a tremendous contribution and we are obviously sorry to see him leave. We wish him all the best for the future. This is perhaps a good time for Billy to go as he leaves us with a very strong sales team under group sales manager Agnes Cassells."

Cassells will now oversee the Carnyx Group's sales team on a day-to-day basis, where another recent change has seen the appointment of Simon Jardine as The Drum's advertising group head. Jardine will work alongside features executive Lynsay Sime, recruitment supervisor Caroline Hughes and classified advertising executives Kirsteen Watson and Tajinder Rai.
