Hampshire County Council's portfolio is made up of some 1,100 sites with a total plan area of over two million m, including schools, offices, residential homes, libraries, museums, scheduled ancient monuments and farms. Responsible for undertaking structural inspections of the County's Built Estate and for other public sector clients, you will have a strong knowledge of the structural inspection and reporting process, coupled with good communication skills and good organisational ability. Also responsible for the structural design of minor capital projects (typically up to a value of 0.5 million) you will have a good knowledge of current UK/EU regulations and standards and their application. Much of the design work will involve alterations to existing buildings of a variety of types from system build (SCOLA), traditional and specialised construction. You will be qualified to ONC level (or equivalent) in Structural Engineering and conversant with inspection and appraisal of, and design in, all of the common materials.
