Job Description

New Vacancy! A brand new vacancy has arisen within an established national integrated agency due to restructure. A new position has become available for an experienced Senior Account Manager or Account Director to join the team.

You will head up the team covering 2 of the agency's key accounts - both interesting and varied clients within retail and financial services.


The purpose of the job is to manage the efficient production of campaigns through the agency on brief, on time and on budget and the responsibilities will include:

§ Maintaining filing systems for the account team.

§ Briefing internal departments and designated external suppliers on project requirements, following Agency Procedures.

§ Ensuring that all project work meets the brief and is accurate.

§ Ensuring that all work is presented to Clients in an appropriate manner.

§ Ensuring that deadlines are met and that accurate production schedules are maintained for every project being managed.

§ Ensuring that Clients have received and approved accurate estimates for all work.

§ Ensuring that accurate and comprehensive financial records are maintained for every project being managed and ensuring that Clients are billed correctly, on time.

§ Ensuring that Status and Contact Reports are produced accurately and in good time – normally, within 48 hours.

§ Maintaining the Agency’s standards and reputation in all external dealings.

§ Supervising the work and development of the Account Manager & Executive.

§ Working with the Head of Account Management and others to develop strategic proposals for Clients and allocated new business prospects.


Account management is also responsible for ensuring that all projects are progressed efficiently and accurately so that campaign objectives, budgets and timescales are met, and that everyone involved in the project (Client and Agency) receives timely information on the project’s progress.

Ensure the agency delivers on brief, on time and on budget every time – taking the hassle away from the Clients and providing them with solutions and not problems.

§ Maintaining regular contact with Clients through business means and Client hospitality.

§ Motivating, managing, supervising and training the account team.

§ Briefing internal departments and designated external suppliers on project requirements, following Agency Procedures.

§ Ensuring that good working relationships are being maintained between the account team, other departments and external suppliers.

§ Ensuring that good communication between Clients and the rest of the Agency are being maintained.

Requirements:

§ The ability to motivate the account team

§ Excellent presentation and persuasion skills

§ Project management skills: ability to juggle more than one project

§ Degree level education in any subject desirable

§ Knowledge of marketing and communications is essential; in particular direct marketing, above the line advertising and digital campaigns.

§ The ability to handle stressful situations and help others cope with stress

§ Tact and diplomacy, respect for other people’s opinions

§ PC skills – word processing, spreadsheet, email and presentation packages

§ Knowledge of the creative process and creative evaluation

§ Knowledge of the production process (artworking, print)

§ Knowledge of database, data processing and personalisation techniques

§ Initiative, pro-active, problem-solving

§ Consultancy skills

§ Client service experience

Person Spec:

§ Excellent communication skills: verbal and written

§ The ability to negotiate

§ The ability to inspire confidence

§ The ability to work as part of a team

§ Good literacy and numeracy

§ Good memory
