An experienced PR Manager required for Charity. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading on proactive and reactive media relations activity. You will be required to plan and deliver PR/media relations activity from inception to evaluation.
Key duties will include:
• The development of strategic PR Plans – with forward planning opportunities across all business areas
• Support activities around corporate reputation management and crisis communications as needed including the preparation of reactive PR statements as required
• Website update of media pages
• Brief and support senior personnel for live and pre-recorded broadcast (national TV and radio) appearances
• Work with retained PR consultants to deliver proactive media relations activity including the development of a media packs, development and delivery of proactive messages and supply content for articles
• Lead on media training for internal personnel
• Deal with the media on a day to day basis as required
• Write and edit press releases and articles as required
• Develop and lead on updating of ‘matrix’ of messaging
• Develop and build strong relationships with internal colleagues in identifying stories
• Develop relationships with key sector journalists as required
• Manage, monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of PR activity
Person Specification:
Educated to degree level with significant experience and an excellent track record of delivering in a similar role. We are looking for a confident, self-starter, who is a good ‘team player’ ideally with experience gained in a variety of roles across the commercial and not for profit sectors. This role would be suitable for candidates with either agency or client side experience. The candidate needs excellent copywriting and editing skills and good attention to detail is essential.
