Salary range £30 - 45k depending on experience
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. The role of the Marketing & PR Manager is to drive the company’s marketing and communications strategies, with a particular focus on the B2C marketing and promotion of products that showcase the business’s original IP. The incumbent also holds responsibility for overseeing the business’s corporate PR and internal communications activity.
Responsibilities for Product/B2C: Driving the creation of brand positioning for original IP products and other business ventures including advising on business models, routes to market, and overall brand identity. Creation and implementation of detailed consumer-focused marketing and communications strategies to launch original IP, including detailed social and community-based communications activities and liaison with any external publishing/promotional partners. Active involvement in the post-launch analysis. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the company’s clients and their PR/marketing teams, including anticipating their needs for marketing deliverables, and liaising with each development team to ensure prompt delivery and availability of staff to support clients’ activity
Responsibilities for Corporate/B2B: Planning, establishing and maintaining a strong and effective corporate branding, marketing and communications strategy in line with the business’s goals. Defining the strategy and brand identity of website(s), social media channels, corporate literature, advertising and other. Advising and supporting the Business Development team on pitching of new products, including the promotion of any unsigned product and research/competitive analysis to inform broader decision making. Managing the company’s presence at major trade events. Liaising with the press (and agencies where required) to promote the company’s work, experience and technology. Increasing the company’s exposure with potential recruits, including liaising with the HR team, and driving the creation and execution of the education out-reach policy.
Internal Communications: Upholding and reinforcing a consistent and positive company message to all staff and ensuring that a continuous 2-way exchange of information and views is facilitated.
Overseeing the content, production and design of internal communications tools. Contributing to, and guiding the tone of, key company announcements, including the dissemination of company goals and strategies.
Management and other responsibilities: Managing the Marketing & PR team and holding responsibility for their workloads, performance and personal development, as well as identifying recruitment needs and hiring staff where required. Creation and control of departmental budget. Active participation in the company’s management team and in relevant strategic workgroups.
Personal: Intermediate skills in Office and Powerpoint are both essential, as is a thorough understanding of how to use social media networks to grow communities and communicate with stakeholders. Ideally minimum of 3 years in a marketing role, preferably for an SME in the games or entertainment sector, with proven campaign creation and management experience. Experience marketing mobile or social content is a distinct advantage. Ideally minimum of 2 years in a management role, with proven experience of people management and team recruitment. First-rate communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly professional, discreet and diplomatic work ethic, with a proven ability to handle sensitive information. Excellent pro-active organisation skills and the ability to prioritise complicated workloads under pressure for multiple staff and self, and to think on both a micro and macro level at all times.
