This established company at the quality end of the retail sector now requires an enthusiastic Designer / Deputy Studio Manager to cover a 12-15 mth maternity period. This role is commutable from Leeds, Harrogate and York.

The key responsibilities of this job are to create effective design solutions (including decorative) through to print ready artwork. You will be working on a variant of work and sub brands of the company, covering brochures, catalogues, newsletters, some packaging, labelling, signage and displays.

Additionally, there is also a requirement to step into the Studio Managers role in their absence, which will account for approximately 30% of your time. This will involve liaising with departmental managers and the Head of Design, managing the work flow, delegation and quality output of a small team of two designers.

The ideal candidate will have in-house and at least some managerial experience within a creative environment. You will be a natural creative, able to sketch your ideas as well as use the Mac, with superb skills in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. You will be a great communicator and team player, organised, flexible and able to work to deadlines.
