PR Account Director.
Circa £35k ~ Edinburgh
Fixed Term Maternity Contract
5 Months initially.

Our client is a globally positioned PR and Communications organisation with offices all over the UK. They currently require an experienced PR professional to join their Edinburgh office for a fixed term contract of five months.

Key responsibilities

With a minimum of five years’ experience in Public Relations, you will be taking on maternity cover for an Account Director. You will be able to run accounts either autonomously or with support from a Director and will have excellent client service skills, having previously provided counsel to senior executives. You will have proven media relations skills.

The preferred candidate will have experience in all or some of the retail, education and property sectors. You will have worked with public sector organisations in the past. You will have excelled in achieving superb results for your clients, and will have a sharp appreciation of the need to deliver commercial benefits in PR campaigns. You will have managed integrated PR campaigns and will be comfortable managing client budgets.

You will be able to demonstrate a keen ability to write PR plans, new business proposals and pitch documents, and will have a naturally positive outlook to building new business connections on behalf of the client. Your key clients will be discussed at interview stage.

Skills & Experience
• Experience working with clients within retail, education and/or property sectors
• Outstanding media relations skills and proven strength in securing quality coverage
• Excellent understanding of news agenda and impact on clients
• Confident participator in meetings with senior executives
• Strong copy writing skills
• Self-starter with good organisation and time management
• Good knowledge and understanding of digital channels
• Experience of working with and giving advice to senior executives
• Experience in campaign management and media relations
• Flawless project management skills
• Experience of crisis and issues management

This is an initial five month maternity cover contract with the possibility of extension.
