One month today we will all get to press snooze on our alarm clocks for a little bit longer than usual and celebrate the Royal wedding. For most of us, it means a day off work and an excuse to stay in and see who has the biggest hat but for marketers and advertisers its means a whole lot more.
We are already starting to see the Union Jack appearing on our favourite brands...look at Hovis and their white loaf. More and more adverts are making the most of the British connections, Morrisons have drafted in Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff with their latest British themed advert and travel companies are using the Royal Wedding to their advantage with a range of offers. This could be just the start of the increasing British connection for marketing after all its only 485 days until the Olympics!
