Hits Radio's campaign has kick started in Greater Manchester with the aim to ensure no Mancunian is left unaware of the city’s new flagship radio station. With fresh and relevant talent central to the station’s ethos the advertising will be full of familiar faces. This includes the star-studded breakfast line up: Gethin Jones, Gemma Atkinson and Dave Vitty, as well as Mike Toolan and Sarah-Jane Crawford among others.

The targeted marketing execution in Greater Manchester includes large format billboards, both static and digital; smaller out of home advertising found in the city centre, Piccadilly Station and the Trafford Centre; bus advertising, both t-sides and rears; a cover wrap of Manchester Evening News on launch day; and a fully branded wrapped tram and posters across the network. To reach the national audience that can listen to Hits Radio, the ad campaign will be activated across Bauer’s magazine stable. The national campaign across print and digital – both online and on social – includes titles like Heat, Grazia, TV Choice and Closer.

The creative from Thinkfarm is designed to be relevant to Manchester, and the world outside London. It has been purposely created to look distinct from traditional radio advertising. After its initial burst of activity, the campaign will reprise in Greater Manchester as well as across more than 20 selected cities.
