A public service announcement (PSA) from the Lonely Whale Foundation is challenging people to stop sucking. The humorous spot draws attention to how 500m plastic straws are used every day in the US. Many of those plastic straws end in oceans, polluting the water and harming sea life. The PSA is a call to action, stating that if we don’t act now, by 2050, plastics will outweigh fish.

Created by creative agency Possible, the PSA brings together an intentionally broad group of celebrities, admitting how they suck (plastic straws) and urges others to join them in this movement to stop sucking, using the hashtag #StopSucking. Those involved in the promo video include Adrian Grenier, Van Jones, Kendrick Sampson, Amy Smart, Emmanuelle Chriqui and others.

The Strawless Ocean website states that "one small change can have a big impact if we all #StopSucking" and urges people to accept the challenge by creating their own challenge URL.
