The new Words With Friends 2 offers a new look-and-feel, as well as some exciting new features including an expanded dictionary, team vs. team play, and single player mode. To kick off the launch, Heat was tasked with developing a campaign that would leverage the product launch as a way to reinvigorate the brand.

The campaign focuses on the power that the game and words (in general) have in bringing people together. With “Gramps” we got specific, focusing on the shared love of word puzzles across generations. “Power of Words,” on the other hand, is a broader love letter to human communication and the power of words to bring us all together. With a lot of head-to-head competitive games, the instinct is to lean into themes of sense of struggle and competition – but for Words With Friends players, we had to take a different approach.

Words With Friends 2 spots will run on broadcast and social media.
