The creative agency, Heat just released a brand new digital series created for the launch of Ubisoft’s newest title, Assassin’s Creed Origins. The series, 'Tales from the Tomb', aims to make ancient Egypt relevant to today’s gamer.

A franchise with a 10-year history, Assassin’s Creed’s challenge has been sustaining momentum and excitement for the game year after year. So, when Ubisoft set out to launch the newest installment of the franchise, we did something they’ve never done before - use comedy.

Heat scoured the annals of ancient history for images of 2,000-year-old Egyptian tomb paintings and then re-contextualized the art and made them all related to Assassin’s Creed Origins. It partnered with Psyop NYC who brought the stories to life in a way that would preserve the authenticity of the original images with both 2D animation of these ancient paintings and 3D animation of the tomb environments. The goal was to make the viewer feel as if they stepped into a real Egyptian tomb to hear how Assassin’s Creed affected everyday life in 54 BC.

Assassin's Creed Origins hits the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on 27 October.
