The International Rescue Committee (IRC) have launched a new awareness campaign video, starring actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key and David Miliband, President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee. The online video features Key’s character “Luther” the anger translator, and tackles the worsening refugee crisis head on. The goal of the campaign is to reach a new audience as well as motivate those who feel angry about the current situation to step up, and turn that anger into action.

Using humour to talk about a deeply sensitive subject is always tricky, but by responding to the calm facts laid out by David Miliband with outbursts of comedic anger ‘Luther’ provides an outlet for the audience, many of whom feel frustrated with the current news cycle. The key message of the video shows that individuals can take action by supporting the IRC in order to help change millions of lives around the world .
